The Egyptian Room Food Hall
Oldham
Project overview
The
proposal involved the restoration and renovation of the Grade II Listed
Egyptian Rooms, a part of the larger former Oldham Town Hall, within Oldham
town centre. The proposals were to
create a new dining hall and bar with a variety of food stalls, along with
various amenity spaces.
The project involved the installation of a new steel framed mezzanine deck, bar structure, main kitchen fit-out, food/cooking stalls, toilet block and stores, along with the installation of new lighting and services in a way that respected the most important historic elements of the building spaces involved.

BDP Architects had already carried out concept design, obtained planning and listed building consents for the proposals and provided detailed project specification; HNA Architects were appointed to deal with planning conditions, Building Regulations and
construction detailing, along with the co-ordination of specialist works packages.
HNA worked with BDP Architects, the contractor, the heritage specialist, the LPA Conservation Officer and other sub-contractors and consultants to help achieve BDP's original concept aims.
