Project overview

The proposal was to provide a new purpose built home for the client taking full advantage of the fantastic views of surrounding valley. The site itself was steeply sloping and meant a design would be needed to provide the necessary accommodation whilst coping with the difference in levels across the site; HNA’s approach was to cut into the hillside to create a semi-sunken open plan main living floor with full glazing to the rear providing fantastic views of the valley and allowing light into the space.

The mid-level provided the main entrance from the parking area, garage, hall and glass stairwell atrium, plus bedrooms; whilst above this on the upper floor is the main bedroom suite and a an office/study area which connects to an in-set roof terrace. The living space opens out onto a raised south facing garden deck area and connects the living space with the wider landscape.
